FAQ 15 – Is it God’s will for me to have a Baby?

FAQ: Is it God’s will for me to have a Baby?

This is one of the most frequently asked questions that I receive. So let me show you how you can KNOW beyond doubt what God’s will is in this area and also for every other area of your life…

In Hosea 4:6 God says ‘my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge’. This scripture is talking about God’s people being destroyed, or suffering through lack of knowledge. If we don’t know what God’s will is for our life then we won’t know what is available to us. But we don’t have to be in the dark concerning the will of God for our life. His will and plan for us always remain clear and constant. Why? Because God’s will for our lives is found within His Word! Any one of us can discover God’s plan and purpose for our lives through reading the pages of our Bible.

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of Him.”  1 John 5:14–15

Whatever is in God’s Word is His will for your life — and in His Word is provision for healing, prosperity, and fruitfulness. You can always rely on God’s Word because it has already been established. So God’s will for you isn’t what the doctors say, what your symptoms say, what your diagnosis is or what the natural circumstances dictate; but rather what His Word says!

It is important to understand what God’s Word says for this area of our lives because there may be times when our circumstances don’t line up with the Word. If we don’t know what the Word says during these times then we may conclude that what happened was God’s will for that situation. But we need to realise that God’s Word isn’t proved or disproved by our personal experiences. When our circumstances don’t line up with what the Word says, we shouldn’t judge or assume it is God’s will. Instead we should continue to renew our minds with the knowledge that God’s Word is the final authority, and when we believe and apply it then God’s will can become reality in our lives.

We also need to remember that God will never break His Word — ever! He has sworn by Himself so we can be confident that He will always keep His promises.

When our circumstances speak contrary to what is in God’s Word it can be due to any number of reasons. But we can be certain that it was never because it is God’s will — as He cannot act contrary to His own Word.
