2011 is “The Year of RESToration” because the Lord’s favour is upon us!
The Lord revealed to me that REST and Restoration are interchangeable because the key to RESToration is REST!
The word rest is the Hebrew word shabath means to cease or desist from labour and to rest. It also means to observe the Sabbath, which literally means ‘a rest’. How we rest is to stop all our ‘works’ and self effort and rest in Jesus and His finished work by trusting and believing that His sacrifice was enough! This is what Salvation is all about. Jesus paid the price so that we can experience God’s RESTORATION in every area of our lives.
- Restoration brings HEALING and HEALTH!
- Restoration is the fruit of REDEMPTION
- Restoration is RECONCILIATION and peace with God
- Restoration brings INCREASE!
What is Restoration?
Restoration is the action of returning something to a former owner, place, position or condition. This is the very heart of God because it is His nature to redeem, release and restore. Therefore put your trust in Him because He wants to reveal and show Himself strong to you.
Restoration brings HEALING and HEALTH!
Healing is being restored to health!
Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. Is 58:8 (Amp)
The Hebrew word for Healing and Health in the above Scriptures means: restoration, repair, and make well! In Jeremiah 30:17 God says “I will restore health to you And heal you of your wounds” and in the New Testament James 5:15 in the Amplified Bible says ‘the prayer of faith will save him who is sick, and the Lord will restore him’. We know in the Gospels that Jesus healed and restored ALL who came to Him. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever! Therefore, healing and restoration to health is still His will and plan for you today!
Restoration is the Fruit of Redemption
Restoration is the result of REDEMPTION because Redemption brings RESTORATION in every area of our lives!
Redemption means deliverance and a releasing effected by payment of ransom. Satan had us captive and bound but Jesus became the ransom. He paid the price and purchased us back with His precious blood! He delivered and set us free!
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. Rom 3:23-25 NIV
Our redemption in Christ has Restored us to a previous condition because we have been cleansed, Justified and made righteous by faith!
[The Father] has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, In Whom we have our redemption through His blood, [which means] the forgiveness of our sins. Col 1:13-14 (Amp)
Jesus was the last Adam who came and redeemed mankind from everything the first Adam brought upon us! Redemption is the forgiveness of sins and deliverance out from all the power of the devil!
We also have Restoration in our Relationship with God! This is Reconciliation!
Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come! 18 But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him]. 19 It was God [personally present] in Christ, reconciling and restoring the world to favor with Himself, not counting up and holding against [men] their trespasses [but cancelling them], and committing to us the message of reconciliation (of the restoration to favor). 2 Cor 5:17-19 (Amp)
Redemption brings RECONCILIATION! Through Jesus blood we are reconciled back to God!
RESToration Brings Increase!
This year of RESToration will also bring supernatural increase because the Lord’s favour is upon us!
“The blessing of the Lord–it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it]”. Prov 10:22 Amp
Therefore, as we rest in Jesus finished work God will bring the increase!
I will cover this in detail in the next BLOG POST:
“The Year of the Lord’s Favour”.
RESTORATION – The Year of God’s Favour is upon us in Christ!
It is important to note that we are not walking towards Restoration like it is an end goal to be achieved. This is because in Jesus we already HAVE Restoration! It was established for us through His finished work! Therefore, we don’t walk towards but rather we walk FROM a place of restoration! Because in Jesus we have:
- Rest – the Lord’s Sabbath Rest, which is also the Lord’s Year of Favour upon us.
- Relationship – God is wanting to be your PROVISION and to show Himself strong to you!
- Restoration of health –to be healing means to be restored to health and made whole!
- Redemption – we have forgiveness of sins (justified freely by His grace). He purchased us back!
- Reconciliation – we have restored relationship and peace with God!
- Released (rescued) –set free from slavery, delivered from bondage, power of sin, death, devil
- We can Reap – as we rest God will bring a supernatural increase!
The Year of God’s Favour is God’s GRACE, PROVISON Restoration and rest. The Lord is our REST! Therefore, we need to labour to REST in Jesus finished work – knowing that His sacrifice is ENOUGH for us to experience God’s RESTORATION in every area of our lives.
Now that is Good News!
